Discussing India’s progress in the semiconductor sector, PM Modi noted the country’s transformation from an importer to a key player in mobile phone manufacturing. “There was a time when we used to import mobile phones, but today, India has created a robust manufacturing ecosystem and has become a major hub,” he remarked. The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s growing export capacity and the training of nearly 85,000 professionals in semiconductor chip design across 113 academic institutions. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bolstering this industry with the necessary infrastructure and resources.

PM Modi also recognized the vast opportunities in the gaming industry, urging the nation to focus on creating world-class gaming products. He described gaming as a major global market with the potential to create significant employment opportunities in India. “IT professionals and AI experts should lead the way in developing gaming products,” the Prime Minister urged, adding that India should also nurture top-tier animators to tap into the booming global animation industry.
